Windows 10: Random and very frequent freezing on 1909

Hi!

I am on 1909 build of windows 10 home. I am facing some serious freezing issues for about 2 months since I updated to this build. my computer freezes for a couple of seconds every other minute leaving me completely frustrated. For those couple of seconds, my CPU usage would jump up to 70-100% and so does the disk usage. Memory normally stays stable. It doesn't matter if I am watching a movie or broswing on firefox or edge or even if the computer is sitting idle. This is driving me insane. I have tried everything at my disposal from checking for malwares to sfc scan, from updating every driver to uninstalling every third party program but to no use. Even a fresh install of windows doesn't solve the problem.

I am constantly checking for windows update but not even the newest update fixed the issue. please refer to the image attached for the OS build info. I am not a tech person so I don't know what else to share. I would gladly share anymore information that might be required for finding a solution should the need arise. Looking forward to your help!

Computer freezing frequently at random intervals

I'm using windows 10 in my hp Probook 4540s.

My Computer freezes frequently at random intervals of 2 or 3 seconds. If I turn on the PC from first window itself it is behaving like this.

I'm facing this issue for the first time. Why it is happening like this?
What I need to do to solve this issue.

 

Random freezes or shut downs

Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.

 

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.
