Windows 10: Random Apps Opening.

Since about 1 1/2 weeks ago, my keyboard has randomly began to temporarily open applications when I press my keys. For example, I wouldn't be able to use W and it would open word. I haven't found any solution but it will stop and start and random times too.I have tried several things like osk, another keyboard, resetting my pc and changing to windows 11 but none of this has changed anything.

This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it.

In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

• Open powershell as administrator
• Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
• Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

 

Can I customize the list of suggest apps in the "Open with" menu?

Thanks.. no problem. Almost seems that no one develops small utilities like that now.. yet being able to modify aspects of the context menu, particularly 'New' and 'Open With' can be useful.

Tried adding a random bat file to Open With list for png.. got as far as




I didn't actually confirm that and check it appeared in Open With though.

(Assuming you were referring to Open With of course).

I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
Go figure!
