Windows 10: Random backspacing in Win11 Explorer Search Bar

I posted this issue back in November 2023 and still no resolution has been forthcoming one year later. I have to re-submit my question as Microsoft has locked my original post.I get random backspacing when typing in Windows 11 Explorer Search bar. It only started happening after a Cumulative update. I uninstalled the update and it fixed the problem but the update always re-installs after shutting down Windows and restarting and then the problem returns.This doesn't happen with any other application such as Word or typing e-mails etc. Only File Explorer.

Random backspacing in Win11 Explorer Search Bar

I get random backspacing when typing in Windows 11 Explorer Search bar. It only started happening after a Cumulative update. I uninstalled the update and it fixed the problem but the update always re-installs after shutting down Windows and restarting.

Another weird thing is that when a type a few words in MS Word where I don't have the backspace issue, and then type again in the Search bar, the problem disappears.

 

Downloaded app, and a random search bar came to the top of my screen.

The search bar that is showing on the upper part of the screen is a 3rd party search bar tool. This tool bar may have been included during the installation or when you installed the CamStudio on your computer. To take that off from your screen, we suggest
that you uninstall the search bar tool. To do that, follow these steps:

• Right-click on Start and click Control Panel.
• Go to Programs and features and click Uninstall a Program.
• Under Uninstall or change a program, scroll through the list to check if there is any third party tool\search bar installed on the computer.
• If yes, right-click on the tool\search bar and uninstall it.

How to clear the search record at the search bar on Windows 10

  Which search bar are you referring to?

  Is it the search bar in file explorer or the search bar on desktop (cortana and search)?
  

If you are referring to the search bar in file explorer, I suggest you to follow the steps given below and check if it helps:
(to delete a specific entry)

• 
  Open File Explorer.
  
• 
  Click/tap inside the Search box, then select (highlight) the search suggestion (ex:
  ttt) that you want to delete, and press the Delete key.
  
• 
  You will not notice that it has been deleted.
  
• 
  Repeat if you would like to delete another one.
  

To clear all search entries, follow this:

• 
  Click/tap on the Download button below to download the .bat file below, then
  run it.
  
  Clear_Search_History_in_File_Explorer.bat
  

2. If prompted, click/tap on Run.

NOTE: If you like, you can stop getting the Run prompt by
unblocking
the downloaded .bat file.

3. You will now notice a command prompt quickly open and close while applying the changes to your registry.
