Windows 10: Random black screen and restart, bugcheck 0x0000116 in event viewer

This is your second clean install first being 64bit, that did not work, so went to 32bit install and you believe this worked, am i getting this correct ?

 

I installed 32bit not realising that it was 32bit and that had driver crashes but recovered, this is a 64bit install with 0 crashes upto now.

 

Mix up the discs ? *092 I am seeing from your profile you had 64bit i assume originally, so went to do a clean install and accidentally installed 32bit had crashes again, even though had the crashes on original 64bit upgrade of Win 10, correct? Maybe using different bit drivers to.

 

Pretty much, I used the media creation tool and obviously didn't select 64bit lol, all seems fine, I had a little brain fart last night after I decided to clean out the fans and stuff, found out I had multiple monitors enabled as well as my mini HDMI was still plugged in and the other end was in my monitor lol, and we know for sure that win 10 doesn't play nice with multiple monitors.

 

So basically clean install second time with now being 64bit as you wanted and no issues so far ? Not to familiar with setup of multi monitors but should be done within windows control panel or NVIDIA control Panel. Your thinking multi monitor caused your issues ? Probably not, but time will tell all.

 

exactly, as far as i could tell, there was nothing enabled but everytime i updated my drivers, nvidia control panel enabled "multiple display performance mode", so something was happening somewhere, but, time will tell *Wink

 

That is strange unless you still had more then 1 monitor hooked to the card. Still not sure if or how this may correct your main issues, keeps us posted. Good luck

 

Sorry for the incredibly long time I left this, but would you believe it, I've just realised how to solve it... Plug your DVI cable into the 2nd port! Not a single crash for about a year!
