Windows 10: Random black screens and crashes constantly -- cannot update windows

I recently built my pc for christmas and it was running fine for the first few days, until suddenly I got a blue screen. I though at first it was probably nothing until the next day it happened again. It was at this point I decided to run a chkdsk and sfc, result came back fine. I had a bit of money left over to buy new ram so I did that because before I had an 8gb and 4gb ram stick so it needed upgrading anyway, this didnt fix it but atleast i got an extra 10 fps. It had been blue screening once a day sometimes twice for about 2 weeks now and it was getting annoying so I decided to try and update windows, but then remembered that i couldnt so reinstalled windows using the settings app. Fresh install of windows 10 surely this would fix the problem and yet again I still couldnt update windows and shortly after black screened. This hadnt happened before and I was concerned that it may be a bad power supply as it shut off rather quickly all rgb on kmb, mouse and mouse mat which usually stay light even after shutting down my pc. Ever since then it black screens at least 5-10 times a day which brings me to now. The error code I get is (0x800f081f), if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated. I am on OS build : 19041.630

Why am I getting a random black screen crash on windows 7 desktop? How do I fix it?

 

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: I suggest you to update the Display drivers and check if that helps. If that issue persist please uninstall and reinstall latest drivers available in manufacturer website.

• Press “Windows + X” and select Device manger.
• Select Display Adapter and expand the driver icon.
• Right click on the driver icon and click on Update.
• Follow the onscreen instructions to update the driver.
