Windows 10: Random blank screen followed by explorer.exe problem

Hi everyone, now im not a computer expert at all, but my laptop just now went blank but the screen is still on. Mouse cursor froze and cant move, and opening task manager results in that explorer.exe unknown hard error. Only thing that works is apparently the keyboard. Then i had to force shutdown i have an online class at that time i dont want to miss and turned it on normally. The laptop manufacturer logo pops up normally like usual and just goes blank after that. The screen is still turned on, its just that it was blank and nothing else. Now do anybody know what should i do and if possibl

Booting problem following 1903 udate attempt.

I notice blank icons in the internet explorer jump lists. Random , say for example YouTube which is in my frequent list. I’ll right click the IE icon to show jumplist and it’ll show its fav icon but another time it may not (just be blank)

seems ok on other jump lists such as Mozilla, edge etc. just internet explorer affected. At least it is on mine! Don’t know if anyone has experienced this

 

Icon for cmd.exe blank in File Explorer


The icon for cmd.exe is a blank file as in the image.




You can see the icon is correct in the properties window.




This is a recent clean install of windows about a week ago. Not sure when they changed but I do remember having the icon correct after the initial install. I've followed the instructions to rebuild icon cache for Windows 10 at http://www.howtogeek.com/232779/how-...in-windows-10/. It did not work.

Any suggestions would be great.
