    started a couple of days ago, the computer will randomly crash and restart, i've tried safe boot and recovery install while keeping my files, nothing but firefox is installed and windows is up to date . Tried to contact support but it takes too long to connect me to someone

    blue screen crashes Security Kernel - Check Failure

    I upgraded my HP laptop with a 3rd party install of more RAM and a solid state drive. Since then last Fall, I have had several blue screens while trying to do astrophotography imagimg using the program Sequence Generator Pro (SGP).
    Basically my Windows 10 laptop shuts down/ crashes with the message "Security Kernel - Check Failure". Of course, that means I have to start over, connect the equipment, new folder, put in cooordinates, slew now, put in my script, center now, start PHD and
    wait for guiding before imaging again. These crashes cost me over an hour of time last night as well as other nights this winter.

    I did not have an issue before installation of the RAM and solid state drive.

    When installing the hard drive, the 3rd party cloned my existing programs, SGP, Photoshop, Ascom, Stellarium, Polemaster, Firecapture....... because I did not want to go through the entire effort of reinstalling and in some cases such
    as with SGP, creating new profiles. Now the 3rd party states that we need to wipe the laptop clean, download Windows as well as all my other programs.

    Has anyone experienced such blue screens using SGP and figured out a remedy or alternatively, or if not, have a comment about the failure notice "Security Kernel - Check Failure"? Also, does anyone have any other suggestions other
    than a total wipe clean and reinstall?
