    Acer Aspire ES1-711

I have two laptops exactly the same. Only one having the issue. Random BSODs at any time, regardless of what I'm doing.

I switched HDDs and the problem stayed with the laptop, not the HDD so I assume hardware issue. I updated BIOS to the most current available on the manufacturer website. I've installed all the updates the manufacturer recommends. Windows Update says I'm current.

I've tried downloading memtest but I can't get to the website to download it. I have no other problems getting to any website so any suggestions on how I can get it would be welcome.

    Thanks for your help.

Windows 10 build 10162 - USB webcam causes system crash

    I'm still having this issue on build Windows 10 (x64 Pro) 10240 using the SP2309W monitor's built-in usb webcam/mic.

The BSOD error that occurs when plugging the USB in is: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (ks.sys). If I plug the usb into a different USB port (for the first time), however, everything works perfectly fine - the webcam shows up and microphone
works great, so I presume the device isn't completely unsupported or SOL. But if you then restart the computer you get a BSOD upon startup with the same message as above.

Looking at the minidumps, I get this information (a few crashes posted):

This was probably caused by the following module:
    ks.sys (ks+0x17C0)

    Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF80042BB17C0, 0xFFFFD00146C89D40, 0x0)

    Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF801312917C0, 0xFFFFD0008A7E5D40, 0x0)

    Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF8000DEC17C0, 0xFFFFD00197918D40, 0x0)

    Bugcheck code: 0x3B (0xC0000005, 0xFFFFF801AF8317C0, 0xFFFFD0019AA61D40, 0x0)

Not sure if that means anything to anyone, but it'd be awesome if this was fixed!

Please see OP about memtest86+ I am still unable to access that website on any device or browser I have. Is there anywhere else I can get this tool or is there another tool that can be used?

I have been trying to run Prime95 but have only been able to run it an hour at most before BSOD. In that amount of time no errors were found and CPU temp was no higher than 70C.I did finally get it to run in Safe Mode but that's the only way the computer stayed on long enough to get 3 hours straight. Attached pics are from that run.

For HD Sentinel please perform the error or surface scan.
Click on disk > surface test
    This may take many hours.
Post an image into the thread.

For Memtest86+ version 5.01 please click on details in the error message and post an image into the thread.
See what happens when you use different browsers. Do they produce different or same results?

Which AV products are always on?
Which AV products are run manually?
Which AV products were installed and were uninstalled?
Which AV products are run manually?

Open control panel > uninstall > make images of the results and post into the thread using one drive or drop box.

Place the computer into clean boot and retest using Prime95.
How does the testing differ from normal boot and from safe mode?

These are the steps using administrative command prompt:
    1) msconfig (in the pop up system configuration > move the dot from normal startup to selective startup > uncheck load startup items > click service tab > in left lower corner check hide all Microsoft services > in the lower right side click disable all > click apply or ok > do not reboot)

    2) taskmgr (in the pop up task manager > click on the start up tab > click on status so that the column sorts with enable rising to the top > right click on each row with enable and change to disable)

How to perform a Clean Boot in Windows 10 - TechNet Articles - United States (English) - TechNet Wiki

    3) shutdown /r (you will reboot the computer so that it is in clean boot)

Evaluate the performance on your computer in clean boot during typical use.
Are the boots faster or slower?
Are the shutdowns faster or slower?
How has the video performance changed? Is it better, worse, or the same?
Continue using clean boot indefinitely to monitor performance.
Report how the performance of Prime 95 changes using clean boot.
And report how the download of Memtest86+ version 5.01 changes in clean boot.
