    BsoD - BUGCODE USB DRIVER

You are correct the BSOD is caused by usbohci.sys and/or USBPORT.sys

This can be caused by a device driver needing updating for some peripheral plugged into a USB port (mouse, keyboard . . .etc.)

You also need to check you have the latest drivers for controller chips on your motherboard - check out the support page for your PC/laptop on the website of the manufacturer

  5. So I tried to do that but could not find the driver in device manager. I removed the fire-wire device from my computer and will see how things go.

OK, let us know how it goes.

  7. Well, it crashed again but a different error. Instead of IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal, I got BUGCODE_USB_DRIVER.

    Here is the dump files

That is a big memory dump, we will want the minidumps.

Follow it: BSOD Minidump - Configure to Create in Windows 10
Go to Option Two, "Small Memory Dump". Download the .reg file and merge it in registry by double clicking it.

Now wait for another BSOD. When it occurred, seh the .dmp files manually in the default path: C:\Windows\Minidump or %SystemRoot%\Minidump. See if the crash dump is recorded or not (hopefully it will be recorded).Post it following the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions.

Dont run any disc cleanup tool before you upload another zip.

  10. So I've had a few crashes but only 2 were recorded in C:\Windows\minidump. Here is the file:

EDIT: Right after posting this I got another BSOD that was caused by usbohci.sys, how do I reinstall this?

There are two different BSODs this time.

Please boot into the BIOS and let us see two camera snaps of M.I.T. Current Status and M.I.T. Advanced Frequency Settings? Probably the dumps are giving wrong readings about memory timing.

    Download and install VIA USB3 driver for Windows 10. GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket AM3+ - GA-970A-DS3P (rev. 1.0)

Make it sure that you are not applying the keyboard and Mouse or any hid device to a USB3 (blue) port. Use those in USB2 (black) ports.

Upload the list of all the third party drivers Using NirSoft DriverView :

    • Download and execute Driverview
    • View > Hide Microsoft Drivers
    • Edit > Select all
    • File > Save Selected Items
    • In the Save dialog, Set the path to desktop, Put "Driverview" in the name field, and save.
    • Zip the .txt file and upload it.

    Everything looks very nice there.

I would like to ask for one more thing, just as a confirmation that the RAM is not playing any role in the issue.
Test your RAM modules for possible errors.MemTest86+ - Test RAM Run memtest86+ for at least 8 consecutive passes.

If it start showing errors/red lines, stop testing. A single error is enough to determine that something is going bad there.
Take a camera snap of the memtest86+ window before closing the program. Let us see it.
Screenshots and Files - Upload and Post in Ten Forums - Windows 10 Forums

Depending on the result of the RAM test and the last BSODs you uploaded, we will decide our next step.

  14. So I am running it right now but it froze after 51 minutes. CPU is at 79 degrees Celsius. I'm on my phone right now

    memtest86+ froze?

Please let it have another go?
Because that is not a good indication.

EDIT: In the second attempt, if the test asks for pressing any key for multi-core processor, dont press any key and let the test run.
