Hello, recently my laptop has been crashing. I had a few BSOD's about a week ago and one today. The crashes are seemingly random. Sometimes it crashes when I'm watching youtube, sometimes when I'm browsing reddit. I haven't downloaded any new drivers or anything so I don't think that is the issue. Really wish I had more information, but that's all I've got. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here are the required files: Attachment 149792

    Thanks,
    Angelo

    :)

    Random BSOD's while using computer

    Hi CaptainCrow ,

There was corruption noted on the drive file system.
The HD has a bad block.
There is corruption of the Master File Table (MFT)
There was 1 misbehaving hardware driver.

    1) This drive could fail at any time and files should be immediately backed up.
    2) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    3) chkdsk /x /f /r
    4) When you see this information in administrative command prompt please type: Y and then reboot.
It may take many hours so plan to run overnight.

    Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.15063]
    (c) 2017 Microsoft Corporation. All rights reserved.

    C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk /x /f /r
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N)

Again this may take many hours so plan to run in overnight.

Read Chkdsk Log in Event Viewer in Windows 10 Windows 10 Performance Maintenance Tutorials

    5) Post the results in the thread.

    6) Run memtest86+ version 5.01 for at least 8 passes.
This may take many hours so plan to run it overnight.

    http://www.memtest.org/
When Memtest86+ has completed 8 or more runs use a camera or smart phone camera to take a picture and post an image into the thread.
    There is 8 GB RAM.
Testing with Memtest86+ takes approximately 1 -2 hrs /GB RAM.
Just 1 error is a fail.
If there is a fail testing both RAM at the same time then remove 1 RAM module and test 1 RAM at a time in the same DIMM. If both pass after testing in the same DIMM then move 1 RAM to the next DIMM.
    Every test requires 8 passes.
There is a high incidence of false negatives if fewer than 8 passes are performed.
So tests will be repeated if fewer than 8 passes are made.
Please make sure that there are at least 8 passes and the more the better.

    7) open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste these commands:
    9) sfc /scannow
    10) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

    11) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

    12) run one of the SMART tests on your drives:

    a) CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World:
CrystalDiskInfo - Software - Crystal Dew World
Download Center - Crystal Dew World
    Software - Crystal Dew World

    b) HD Tune: HD Tune website

    c) Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring: Hard Disk Sentinel - HDD health and temperature monitoring

When the SMART test has completed open the Microsoft snipping tool and make images of the results to post into the thread.

Check the health, scan for errors, no quick scan but full scan, and run a benchmark.

It may take some time, but please take the time you need to perform it properly.
When above is done please make screenshots of the following
    the health,
    the error scan,
    the benchmark incl. following
    transfer rate,
    access time,
    burst rate,
    cpu usage.

    13) Run Sea tools for windows on your drive using SMART, short and long generic tests:

    14) Open the Acer website > enter the computer's serial or product number and operating system > view drivers > identify Qualcomm Atheros Extensible wireless LAN athw8x.sys > download to desktop
    15) disconnect computer from wireless
    16) open device manager > uninstall Qualcom Atheros extensible wireless lan athw8x.sys
    17) install wireless driver placed on the desktop.
