  2. Wireless Network Connection adapter name.

    Thank you for your reply.

My query is about the network adapter name change happened in Windows 10 from Windows 7.

In windows 10 it displays "Wi- Fi"

where as in Windows 7 it is "Wireless Network Connection".

Can we expect the adapter name as "Wi-Fi" in all Windows 10 machine, or there is any name change by default.

  4. random characters in my network adapter name

    Wireless Network Connection adapter name.

    Hello Ananthu,

The different network names you see on your Windows devices might be due to a network adapter driver misconfiguration. That being said, we'll need more details to isolate your concern. Please answer the following questions:

    • When did the issue start?
    • Are all devices connected to the very same network?
    • Are you getting any issues when connecting to the network?

For now, we advise running the troubleshooter for network adapter. This tool will scan and fix your Windows PC for any misconfiguration detected with your network adapter driver. Follow these steps to run the troubleshooter:

    • Click the Start button.
    • Go to Settings.
    • Select Update & Security >
      Troubleshoot.
    • Under Find and fix other problems, select
      Network Adapter.
    • Click Run the troubleshooter.
    • If prompted, click Yes or enter the administrator password.
    • Follow the on-screen instruction.

You can also access the troubleshooter online from this
    link
. The tool applies to Windows 7 and later.

We're looking forward to your response.
