Windows 10: Random crash results in PC running with black screens

Hi all,

Would be great if you could help me out with the following:


Today I wanted to relax & play some Anno on my PC, which I had built in the beginning of the COVID outbreak. No issues since then, till now.

After running the game for approx. 5 minutes, both my monitors went black. The PC was still running though.

With no options left, I hard-resetted the PC, which booted normally into Windows. However, a few minutes later, the same occurs, now while browsing on Chrome.

After this, the hard-resetting doesn't work: not with the reset button or holding the power button for a few seconds, neither with cutting the electricity and keeping it off for > 1 minute.

Every time when I start the PC, I hear my motherboard booting and the fans continue running, however both my screens do not give signal that they are connected, only that they are on. I see neither the BIOS booting, nor Windows.


Any clues what could've happened?

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.
