Windows 10: Random crashing in certain games only help

Hi, I started having my pc crash when playing DX12 games like metro exodus and this other game called backroom break, My whole pc will shut down or restart itself as if the power is lost, I have switched out the power supply from the toughpower GX2 to a corsair RMx it crashed on me again, so I changed the outlet thinking it was a bad outlet it was on and it still crashed. I since updated the bios, changed out the ram, and used a different GPU for testing none of these seem to fix the crashing. Then I decided to turn off XMP in bios maybe it's a bad IMC in the CPU seeing as my CPU is years

Are they just random crashes? Or do they most commonly occur 5 minutes into playing a certain game?

I have the identical issue as OP despite different hardware. Certain games crash within a few minutes while others are fine. Games that crash include Guardians of the Galaxy and Assassins Creed Origins.

I'm using a AORUS GeForce RTX™ 3080 XTREME 10G (rev. 2.0) and the Event Viewer message is identical, except instead of Device\Video3 is says Device\Video9.

I'm using 516.40 drivers and have already done a DDU. My next step is another DDU followed by year old drivers (466.47) listed on the AORUS GeForce RTX™ 3080 XTREME 10G (rev. 2.0) website. I don't see any VBIOS for the rev 2.0 version of the card.

I can provide DXDIAG, MSCONFIG, or anything you think could help to diagnose this.

 

Gaming and Random Crashes.


Hi,

After some research and failing to find any solution i`ve decided to find help, have a gaming laptop (don`t judge me) and it used to work pretty well, until the latest Witcher expansion, i would be gettting a DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION everytime i tried to start the game, some driver updates later and now i`m randomly getting the same BSOD so far i've tried.

• Updating GPU Driver.
• DDU the Drivers and do a clean install.
• running sfc/scannow

Unfortunately my internet time is limited and i couldn`t find any more steps.

Any help would be appreciatted, and sorry for the bad english.
