  1. Random DNS TCP requests from Active Directory

Hello community, A few days ago I have been seeing strange DNS requests from a Windows Server 2022 Datacenter that acts as Active Directory AD. They are DNS requests against a random domain and it changes, the pattern of these DNS requests is against a domain in the form 1092-ms-RANDOM_ID-b908-0676796d96df. These requests are made at intervals of 10 min, 15 min, 15 min, 10 min, 15 min, 15 min periodically. The requests are through port 53, but using the TCP protocol instead of UDP and it seems, according to the response, as if they were encrypted to a certain extent, since the information

  2. Active Directory Computers list

    Hello,

I am trying to add an organizational unit to the active directory I created on my windows server 2016. However, I realize that there is no computer in the active directory computer list on my DNS domain
(Server Manager > Tools > AD Users and Computer > domain > Computers). I did set up ADDS, DNS and DHCP through server manager. Changed the Network settings, changed the system name. Every possible thing has been tried, but I fail to understand why there is
no computer in the active directory computer list on my DNS domain. The Domain name and the full computer name (Name.DomainName.com) does show up in the system properties. Please help me out.

  3. TCP/IPv4 Properties

    Hello . I have one question .

I have currently a DNS server addresses configured inside the router settings configuration .

the question is : is better also set in the "use the following DNS server addresses " the same DNS server addresses ( that are set in the router config ) in the Windows 10 TCP/IPv4 properties ?

or is better keep the Windows 10 settings in the default "Obtain an IP Address automatically " ?

resume : is better set the DNS servers in both router and Windows 10 TCP/ipv4 settings ? or is better only set this DNS ´s addresses only inside the router configuration , and then leave in the Windows 10 TCP/IPv4 in the default "Obtain an
    IP Address automatically " ?

    Thank you by any suggestions

    dns probe finished no internet

    Hi Oxide,

After some trial-and-error testing of all suggested fixes, which I found over the internet, here’re what worked for me to solve "DNS Probe Finished No Internet" issue and might work for you as well.

Method 1: Change Default DNS Address to Open DNS

Here all you have to do is change your default automatically obtained DNS server addresses to open DNS or Google DNS. To do this, follow below mentioned steps:

    Step 1:
Right click on Network icon located in Windows Task Bar Menu.

    Step 2:
Click on ‘Open Network and Sharing Center.’

    Step 3:
Click on Local Area Connection with whom who are presently connected and click onProperties.

    Step 4:
Select ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’ and click on Properties.

    Step 5:
Now in newly opened windows, select the radio button that reads ‘Use the following DNS server address:’

    Step 6:
Now in the ‘Preferred DNS Server’ box type in 208.67.222.222 and in ‘Alternate DNS Server’ type in 208.67.220.220.

    Step 7:
Now check the box that says ‘Validate settings upon exit’ and then click on OK. That’s it.
