    Random drive file download

I was browsing a streaming site that had a lot of pop up ads and might not have been the most trustworthy. Then randomly a file with no name or description, only a windows drive icon started downloading and got instantly canceled without giving me any information. I checked the downloads tab on chrome but the file was not shown in anyway. Is it possible for a virus to fake its download being canceled and being installed anyway? Or am I just overly paranoid? I have scanned my computer with windows defender and a free version of malware bytes, both found no virus. However I’m still a bit sketche

  2. Downloaded files disappear

When you download a file through any browser, there's an option somewhere to 'Open Containing Folder.'

In Windows, to find a file you have downloaded...

    1. Open your personal folder by clicking the Start button and then clicking your user name at the top of the Start menu's right pane.
    2. Double-click one of the following folders:
      • Downloads
      • Documents
      • Pictures
      • Videos
      • Music

If you do not see the file you are looking for, but know its file name, you can search for it by following these steps:
To search for a file you have downloaded...

    1. Click the Start button
    2. Type all or part of the file name into the Search box.
The file you are looking for will appear in the list of results.

how to copy files from the CD to the Computer drive

    Hi Hankriegler,

I would suggest you to follow the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + X.

    • Click file explorer from the list.

    • Select the CD/DVD drive and hit Enter.

    • Select the files you want to copy from the CD/DVD, then select the drive where you want to paste or save.
I hope the information is helpful.

    Thank you.

    Random drive file download

    Random freezes or shut downs

Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.
