Windows 10: Random ERR_NETWORK_IO_SUSPENDED in Windows applications network itself *is* working

Quite often Windows applications are stuck frozen with error ERR_NETWORK_IO_SUSPENDED.Typically observed in Chrome, but impacts also any other application, e.g. EdgeWhen:- after returning from sleep mode- *but also* at random timeFor how long:- several minutes- then the applications automagically resume to normal behaviourWhat is impacted:- all Windows applications at the same time- except WSL, that is *not* affected e.g. I can do a `curl` without any problemNetwork itself is not the cause!:- other devices in my LAN still have access to Internet during the incidents- WSL still has access

BitDefender is nothing special. mwac.sys causes BSODs anywhere.

In that very thread, the suggested action apparently worked.

The storage and network filters of any third party antivirus can cause BSODs. Neither MBAM nor BitDefender is any special. For a regular antivirus, it may be shifted to an alternative; but MBAM has no alternative. So a clean install of the said program is the most feasible first step.
As far as the first step is not failing, it is better to not think for the second step. Because the BSODs are not universal, failure at the first step is not universal; and success at the second step is also not universal.
That is why I posted that my suggestion may work, or may not. Let us see where it goes.

Another question, is this on a home network or a work network? The steps @eidairaman1 listed are always a good first step. If this is on a work network you manage, I'd be much more concerned than the home one. It is possible someone is screwing with you, but malware could also be the culprit.
