Windows 10: Random freezes minutes/seconds after boot (1909)

I'm experiences random freezes. Sometimes it runs hours, sometimes only a few seconds. I could not find anything in the Event Viewer. I do not remember exactly, but I think it started mid December after a Windows update. Here is what I did so far.

• Made sure software, drivers, firmware etc. are up to date.
• I ran Lenovo's hardware check and it passed all tests.
• I removed all updates since November, but that did not help.
• I checked system integrity and it's ok.
• I never had a crash under Safe Mode, so this suggests it is an issue with Windows.

I guess I have to reinstall?

Random freezes or shut downs

Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.

 

Random BSODs "Bad_Pool_Caller"


This BSOD happens anywhere, irrespective of BitDefender. It takes place even when the antivirus is MSE in case of Windows 7. The most common cause is an expired trial or a cracked installation. Some examples:

We are on our way of troubleshooting. If the uninstallation and reinstallation does not work, we will take the next step.

I, in general, know what I am doing and what I am suggesting. If I feel that I am unable to control the issue, I will definitely ask for help.

 

Computer Hard Freezes Randomly - No Error logs or Memory dumps


I posted on Sevenforums a few days ago regarding this issue:

I was suggested to check for temps (all were normal) and perform a clean install of Windows 10 (I had upgraded from Windows 7). I had another hard freeze today similar to the ones I was having before. The issue is back and I'm unsure of what to do next. Is this no longer a software issue if reinstalling the OS was unsuccessful?
