    Random hollow/tinny sound

    Hello all...

I would like advice on this matter...

I jump ship from Windows 7 to 10 thereabouts 3 months ago. Everything is running smoothly and just the way I want it to....

Within the last 4/6 weeks, the sound on this computer will randomly sound hollow, whether I'm playing music from Deezer Or Youtube videos etc etc. It may not happen everyday..I would say more around twice a week, that this will happen - the only way to make it sound like it's suppose to, more solid you could say, is to close and reopen the browser...

I have a dedicated sound card, which is an ASUS Xonar Essence STX....

I was thinking maybe I need to disable the onboard sound?

Or should I update the driver for the sound card? If so..I understand I have to go through Device Manager and right click on the sound card, than Properties and Driver. If this is the case..is it necessary to completely uninstall the driver - Or is it as straight forward to simply click Update Driver and let Windows search for the latest driver to install over?

    Advice is greatly appreciated. *Smile

    :)

  3. Latest Windows 10 Update has caused sound to be hollow and tinny

This was an update that just recently occurred within the last week. My sound was so nice before, movies were enjoyable to watch. Now, the sound is hollow and tinny, and with movies, the music soundtrack is often louder than the voices. I've run troubleshooters,
rebooted several times, updated my sound driver, played with every possible sound setting, and nothing makes a difference. I sure hope someone knows how to fix it :-/
