  1. random inputs when second monitor is plugged in to laptop

I have a Dell G5 laptop and the specs are:

    I7-9750

    16gb ram

    1tb SSD

    Nvidia 6gb gtx 1660Ti

and I have just plugged in a second monitor as an extension, but random inputs keep happening. for example, I would open up a game like for honor and it keeps opening the menu and holding down random buttons without my input. only happens when my monitor is plugged in in any kind of display e.g. extend, duplicate, only monitor 1, etc.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

    :)

  2. AOC 2269W monitor only displays when a second monitor is plugged in

I'm setting up my computer after moving to a new apartment. My desktop is a self built windows 10 machine that I've had for 6 months now. So now to the issue. I'm going to try

I (want to) have a single monitor setup using my AOC 2269W monitor hooked up to the DVI port on my NVidia GTX 980. After half an hour of troubleshooting to make sure the DVI cord wasn't bad, that is was fully plugged in, that the monitor had power, and everything
else I can think of I'm here begging for an answer.

(with everything plugged in correctly) I power on my desktop and see the lights inside it turn on. I then see the light at the bottom of the monitor turn from orange to green to indicate that it is going from idle to on because it received input. After a
second the screen shows "no display" and turns black (the light also turns from green to orange). I was in a hurry because I had to watch the new Game of Thrones episode live so I hooked up my TV using the HDMI port on my GPU (while my AOC monitor was still
plugged in). All of a sudden the tv AND THE MONITOR turn on... The displays show that the monitor is listed as display #2 so my theory is that the computer is treating as the second screen in a dual monitor set up and when it is the only display plugged in
    it's not gonna work.

So is there a way to set my monitor as display #1? Setting it as the main display does not work. What do I have to do to make the monitor identify as 1 instead of 2?

Laptop display and monitor will not wake when HDMI cable plugged into laptop.

I have a laptop. Lenovo ideapad FLEX 4-1480 Signature Edition.

The laptop has a display, and the laptop is connected to a monitor via an HDMI cable.

    Sleep mode is disabled.

    Screen timeout is enabled.

I lock the computer. The laptop display and monitor both eventually deactivate.

I move the mouse and press keys to wake the monitor. Nothing happens on either the laptop display or the monitor.

If the HDMI cable is not plugged into the laptop, the laptop display will wake as intended. The problem happens only when the HDMI cable is plugged into the laptop.

I have to remove the HDMI cable from the laptop, wait a few seconds, reinsert it, then the laptop display and monitor will wake. Again, the laptop display will wake just fine when the HDMI cable is not plugged in.

Issues while installing a second monitor in Windows 10

Really? I get a canned answer and nothing else? I posted that I had tried everything that I could find posted online. I did read the post that Andre suggested multiple times prior to posting this request for help. None of it helped.

My computer does not recognize that there is a second monitor is plugged in. The small step of changing the settings so I can put stuff on the second monitor ISN'T the issue. I am not that dumb. in the device manager there is only the single monitor listed
at one point there was a unknown device listed but my computer did not know if it was a monitor or a printer.

There has to be someone out there that knows how to fix this

    Please Help
