    Random notification sounds with Windows 10 - SOLVED


    I've been having random notification sounds for about a month. I searched and searched for something that would help. MANY people had asked the same question, and received completely useless answers from experts and the community. I tried to post an answer in the forum, but these threads were locked. [Grumble] SYMPTOM: Apparently, in my case, the notification was a USB disconnect-reconnect notification. The symptom that made me suspect this was that mouse movement during the notification would pause or become erratic.FIX: I have FOUR groups of USB ports: two groups on the motherboard front pa

    Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

    Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

    The random notification sound can have several causes. In this thread it was discovered to be a USB hub:

    In this thread after many suggestions (one of which might work) the OP found the problem by running Process Monitor, filtering it for .wav (sound) files:

    Random Notification Sound

    I've been getting this random notification sound from yesterday. Did some research found out it was due to some devices but in my case it is not. Someone told me to mute windows notifications, I did
    but still, get to hear this sound in my headset or speakers in different time intervals.

    Any suggestion or help is appreciated.
