Random problems with Windows features such as taskbar, selecting/highlighting content

I recently have been having problems with my desktop pc with some Windows features such as my taskbar and mouse selecting.

I cannot highlight or select text or any content in a few apps with my mouse. I tries double clicking content to try and select it, which it does, but only for a small amount of time less than a second. I have gone through settings and made sure they are all correct so I can highlight text but this did not fix anything.

When I hover over apps in my taskbar, the window preview popup comes up for barely a second and then disappears. I must first click the taskbar to "focus" the taskbar and then the previews will popup as long as i am hovering over the app.

These problems happen only when I turn on my pc after shutting it down with the power button on the tower or windows > power > shutdown. These problems do not occur if I restart the computer using windows > power > restart. I have scanned my computer multiple times using full scan and no malware or viruses have been detected. These problems started happening randomly when I turned on my pc a few days ago. I have looked everywhere and nobody seems to be having these same issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    :)

  3. External HardDrive Problem (please help Random problems with Windows features such as taskbar, selecting/highlighting content :( )

    Try this:

    1) Insert your flash/external drive into the USB port.

    2) When you see the AutoPlay dialog box, click Cancel.

    3) Open My Computer, right-click your flash drive icon, and select Properties.

4)In the Properties dialog box, select the AutoPlay tab.

    5) Perform the following steps for each item in the Content Type drop-down list:
    > Select an item in the Content Type drop-down list.
    > Choose Select An Action To Perform in the Actions panel.
    > Select the Open Folder To View Files In Windows Explorer action.
    > Click the Apply button.
    > Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.

Now use the Safely Remove Hardware feature to remove your flash drive — wait a moment and plug it back in. You’ll see the AutoPlay progress appear momentarily, and then you should see Windows Explorer open to show the contents of the flash drive.

Problem with a combine taskbar icons.

    Hello,

In Windows 10, you can personalize the settings of your taskbar. If there are multiple applications opened, same applications will be combined under one taskbar button. If you want to change this setting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

    • Press the Start button.
    • Click on the Settings app.
    • Select Personalization.
    • At the left side of your window, click on Taskbar.
    • Under Combine taskbar buttons, choose Never.

Kindly update us with the results and if you have further queries, feel free to post back.
