Windows 10: Random Programs stop working for no reason

Hi everyone,


Since yesterday, a bunch of programs on my PC stopped working for no good reason. If I try to open them, they start for 3-4 seconds and then a message pops up saying that the program isn't working correctly anymore. There is no error message and the only options I have is either to close the program or to "debug" the program, which just closes the program as well.

I already tried to boot into safe mode and let my antivirus scan the entire system, but it didn't found any issues.


The worst part about it is that programs that are from windows itself aren't working anymore.


And because I haven't downloaded anything the last days the only cause of this I can think of is either that windows itself is somewhat broken or the cause could be that I have Ubuntu installed on the same hard drive but that's more unlikely because it's been there for about half a year now with no problems.

BitDefender is nothing special. mwac.sys causes BSODs anywhere.

In that very thread, the suggested action apparently worked.

The storage and network filters of any third party antivirus can cause BSODs. Neither MBAM nor BitDefender is any special. For a regular antivirus, it may be shifted to an alternative; but MBAM has no alternative. So a clean install of the said program is the most feasible first step.
As far as the first step is not failing, it is better to not think for the second step. Because the BSODs are not universal, failure at the first step is not universal; and success at the second step is also not universal.
That is why I posted that my suggestion may work, or may not. Let us see where it goes.

 

random keyboard keys stop working?

i went out today and everything was fine, i come home and three random keys stopped working, maybe more i havent noticed yet. the three key on the left side of the keyboard not working, the left shift stopped working, and the enter key stopped working, but the one on the numpad works fine. no one was home to use it, nothing spilled on it, i tried it on another computer and same deal. im gonna go buy a new one tomorrow but it makes me sad cause i loved this keyboard lol, microsoft ergonomic 4000. ill probably buy the same exact one if its in stock tomorrow, this one lasted or 4 years about. im just confused why three random keys spread out stopped working at the same time...seems very weird
