  1. Random Reboots and System Shutdown while working on Chrome Browser

    Hi Guys,

I had previously started a thread in the wrong section about the computer rebooting while working on Chrome Browser (Google Drive). It usually happened after I unlocked the computer, being away for 10+ mins. After updating all the drivers, this behaviour stopped.

Today I noticed a different wierd problem. While using Chrome Browser again, the laptop simply shut down. No error/BSOD/reboot. As if you unplug the PSU cable of a desktop tower. At work I always use the laptop with the charger plugged in; but this shut down occurred when I was not plugged in to the charger. It happened 2-3 times and after it shuts down, it doesn't boot up again unless I connect the charger in. I checked after restarting and the battery indicator is ~100%.

Checking Event Viewer has a bunch of error logs. One caught my eye was an Event 41 Kernel Power.
    0x8000400000000002

I am attaching logs from today as well as the logs I had gathered when the laptop used to reboot (described in the other thread) in case the previous history has any relation to the current problem.

It is a brand new laptop (couple of months old).

Any advice will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Getting error "A network change was detected. ERR_NETWORK_CHANGED" on Google Chrome with Windows 10

    Hello Yashwanth,

I have the same error message, quite frequently at the moment.

    1) Only happens with Chrome, however I only have Chrome, IE and Edge on my machine, I have not tried other browsers.

    2) No problems with Edge or IE, the same error continues on Chrome while the other browsers work fine.

    3) The solution seems to need a system restart in my case, rebooting the browser does not consistently work, nor does rebooting the router.

I hope this helps with your analysis.

  3. Win10 enter sleep mode unexpectedly when running a specific program

    Summery of issue:

When running Google Chrome or Opera browsers to play a specific Flash based game, Windows 10 will enter sleep mode after a random time!!! No way to bring system back except doing hard reboot.

    Platform:

    - Desktop PC

    - Windows 10 Pro (64-bit) Ver. 1703 Build 15063.674

    - Opera (32-bit) Ver. 48.0.2685.35

    - Google Chrome (64-bit) Ver. 61.0.3163.100

    - Flash Player (PPAPI) Ver. 27.0.0.159

    Issue Details:

When running Chrome or Opera (both Chromium based browsers) and launch a specific game require Adobe Flash Player, everything go fine. After random time (usually 5 mins or up to 30 mins), the screen go black, but still can hear game music through Speakers.
There is no way to bring screen back!!! During black screen, keyboard and Mouse still function properly.

To bring system back, I do:

    1) Press ALT-F4 to close browser.

    2) Press Power button to shutdown Windows.

    3) Power On and wait for windows to load with corrupted sign-in screen.

    4) Press Reset button to hard boot the system and gain back control over it.

I'm not sure if this is issue is related to Windows or the browser, but I think it be posted here cause I know its rare that any 3rd party application is capable to force Windows to go in sleep mode and no way to bring it back.

Hope I can get some help from an expert in Windows

    Thanks!!

Random Reboots and System Shutdown while working on Chrome Browser

    Hi shadowarrior,

Welcome to the 10forums and apologies for the delay.

Are you still in need of help?

  5. Hi Axe0,

Thanks for the welcome. Yes would still need help to figure out the recent shutdowns when charger is not connected. Do you need any more info/details from me?

    Cheers

I will request new information if necessary *Smile

Please remove all MSI programs while troubleshooting, many laptop/motherboard manufacturer software are known for causing a lot of problems including BSODs.

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Unfortunately I cannot find any logs about BSODs outside of the unexpected shutdown logs.

Have you ever removed the battery or attempted to remove the battery?

  7. Nope never removed the battery or attempted to either.
First week I purchased it, I did use it for some time without charger, didn't notice any problem there (shut downs). I will uninstall the MSI softwares and disable the start ups now. After that I will turn on the laptop and let it sit on desktop...won't open chrome or any other applications. Lets see if that kicks in a shutdown.
