Windows 10: Random Restart/Computer Crashing and freezing for 4-5 minutes before turning black

My computer has a really annoying problem. It keeps randomly freezing from a span of 1 minute to 5 minutes and then turning black screen. I either have to keep clicking the on/off button and one of these will happen;-my computer goes back to what it was doing beforeor-my computer will force restart without notifying me, just closing all my apps that I was running beforeThese errors can sometimes happen between 2-3 minute margins since the last time it happened, which makes it so annoying.Also:-sometimes, the blue screen will happen if my computer is on sleep, which is about 4 minutes of non-us

Random Crash/Freeze on Build 10130


Hello everyone.

I have been running the Windows 10 preview for the last few months and other than a driver issue here or there, did not experience any real problems. However, with the last update to build 10130, I have been experiencing a random crash/freeze that manifests itself in one of two ways:

1. If I step away from the computer and come back before the monitor is set to go to sleep, I will come back to a frozen cursor, unable to do anything.
2. If I step away from the computer and come back after the monitor has gone to sleep, I will come back to a black screen, unable to do anything.

In both cases, I have to hold the power button in to shut down the computer for a restart.

Any direction or help would be greatly appreciated.

I came across with a strange and odd computer behavior and I'm not sure what could be wrong:

Everytime I turn the computer on for the first time of the day, it will automatically shuts off and restart within the first 5 minutes after windows gets booted up. After it restarts automatically, everything is fine, no more restarts for hours. This happens everytime I turn the computer on the first time of the day. When it goes into restart, the computer first freezes (mouse not frozen, music/sounds gets frozen) and within seconds, it goes into black screen signaling the computer has restarted.

Is this usually a bad hard drive? My OS is installed in a nvme m2 slot SSD.

My system spec: i7-8700k, z370 gaming 5 aorus mobo, corsair vengeance 16gb ram, gtx1080ti.

I did a memtest, although it froze me at 65% but no errors occurred before that....

Any help and suggestion would be appreciated.

 

Computer frequently crashes/randomly restarts.

I have a HP Compaq 6305 Pro. The details can be seen by clicking the "My Computer" button on the left side of my post. I'm running Windows 10 Version 1903 (OS build 18362.778).

For the last two weeks or so, my computer has been frequently crashing/randomly restarting. It usually happens after I've restarted the computer, frequently within 10 minutes of logging back into Windows after my restart. The screen goes black for a second or two, and then my computer is suddenly starting up (BIOS screen, Windows loading, etc).

Peculiarly, after each these random restarts, if I leave the computer running without restarting it, it won't randomly restart again, no matter how long I leave it running (even for days). But if I restart it (or power it down and start it by pressing the power button), it will usually run for 5 to 10 minutes, then randomly restart. Occasionally, the random restart will take a while to happen (a few hours or so). How much I'm using the computer doesn't matter. Whether I'm running several programs or no programs at all, the random restart will still happen.

I ran the V2 Log collector, and uploaded the resulting ZIP file to Dropbox. It found no crash dumps, as the crashes/restarts happen in such a way that no crash dumps are created (although information about the unexpected startup after the crash is recorded in the Event Viewer), but there might be other useful information to be found.
