Doesn't seem like this really helped in my case, was still getting severe stutters with more or less the same frequency.

One thing I'm currently trying is rolling back my Realtek LAN driver to an older Windows 7 version. Will report back once I've tested it for a little while.

    Same problem here guys *Sick
Win 8/8.x on the exact same hardware did not have this problem in my case.
Will post specs/history later (my lengthy post went missing) I think we can blame Microsoft kernel in the end, possibly

Today we have KB3118754 and in updated file list there is also new kernel again... Any feedback?
I can test it later also
    Edit:
    Nothing changed.

Ok, another one thing to try.
    Run CMD as admin
    powercfg -attributes SUB_PROCESSOR 5d76a2ca-e8c0-402f-a133-2158492d58ad -ATTRIB_HIDE
then open power management plan "Maximum Perfomance"
and set Cpu idle Disable under CPU options.

    Set plan active.
This setting polls CPU C0 state, minimum hardware latency. I have ndis spikes with this setting also, but... less stutters and maximum DPC is 130ms not 250 or 300. But CPU consumes more power and running full speed all the time.

Hm, good to know. Might also be worth disabling all the CPU power saving things in the BIOS as well.

Also, an update on the Windows 7 LAN driver: It's actually significantly reduced the frequency of the stuttering. Before, on the Win10 driver, I'd get DPC frequent latency spikes directly from ndis.sys or tcpip.sys. Now, I (usually) only get kernel timer latency spikes without an associated driver, and this happens less frequently.

So, I'd say it's worth a shot to try a driver rollback to a Windows 7 version.

For anyone reading this thread who has a Realtek LAN driver, try going to your motherboard manufacturer's website and seeing if they've got drivers for Win7. The current Win7 drivers on Realtek's site won't let you install it on Win10.

I had a similar issue after a clean install of Windows 10 this week. Windows 7 audio was flawless but after installation I was getting all kinds of glitches in Cubase and could not run my audio interface (M-Audio 2626) at low latency.
Similar to the OP, LatencyMon showed the issue was ndis.sys.
My motherboard is ASUS P9x79Pro which has a Gigabyte LAN adapter. I had already installed the latest Windows 10 driver from the ASUS website (v20.1.201.9). However I went to the Intel site and installed the very latest available (v 20.4.207.0) and this seems to have resolved the issue.
I hope this helps anyone else with similar issues

    Asus P5K-E/WIFI-AP
    Intel Q6600
    8 GB memory
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 650 Ti BOOST
    2x Crucial C300 64GB in RAID0 for os (worked perfectly on win7/8.x)
    Samsung Spinpoint F4EG 2TB
    WD Caviar Green 3TB

As you can see this is pretty ancient hardware...*really
In terms of new drivers I only have/had to download the latest Geforce driver on a new install. Windows took care of the rest. And this worked just fine on win7/8.x for so long. Until win10 that is. The Asus drivers available for my mb are outdated by six years and Intel has no new storage control drivers for my setup.
I've tried LatencyMon for some time but it's difficult to pin it down. In my case its either ndis.sys, usbport.sys, dxgkrnl.sys etc. that's causing problems, it's completely random. However I get loads of hard pagefaults everytime when running LatencyMon.

Here is something strange.. I have steam installed with a few games. All of them installed on the os ssd. I NEVER get an audio stutter while playing graphic intensive games, like cod ghosts.
This makes me think that the fault lies somewhere in the Microsoft sphere. Problems handling active multible drives or something?

Unfortunately I'm still getting stutters on my end, even after the update *Sad

But at least with the old Win7 drivers they're at a more manageable level of annoyingness.

I used to get the stuttering when my system came out of sleep. I stopped using sleep and use hibernate instead and the problem seems to have been eliminated.

I had this problem in addition to audio buzzing/stuttering when I installed win10. I was hoping these were related.
They were not *cry The buzzing continues...
When googling 'windows 10 audio buzzing' Loads of people have this on wildly different hardware, but no solutions what so ever. I'm thinking this must be at the Microsoft end

How is the stuttering as of just now? Since we now have somewhat mature win10.. updates with explanations.. *Think
In my case the stutter is gone if I close my torrent client. This is new. I used to get stutters randomly all the time, even when my torrent client was closed. Network related.... but where *cry

It's actually significantly better for me now. I still get them but they're FAR rarer than they used to be. Used to be like 4-5 times a day, now it's about 4-5 times per week.

So yeah, it seems like some of the updates have been improving things bit by bit over time, thankfully.
