Windows 10: Random System Freezing - Chrome/Chromium? OR Something else?

Ever since the end of January, early February, i've had issue with my system just randomly freezing. this normally happens when Chrome is open and i believe the issue could be that.

Since then, i tried moving over to Edge, which is now Chromium based, and it happened again earlier today.

Event viewer shows nothing of any use, no critical/warning errors.

When the system freezes, the mouse cursor can still move around, it's almost as if the full GUI has just frioze? The only way to free it is to hit the restart button on the front.

I've uninstalled the dodgy windows update thats been plaguing a few machines, so i'm not sure if that could be the culprit?

Has anyone else had any similar issues at all recently?



TLDR: Random system freezes which i believe could be down to Chrome/Chromium, or a rogue update. No New HW changes.

Cannot uninstall Chromium browser at all on Windows 10.

followed the steps you have posted here and was doin' great until the very last step. opened my C: drive but no Chromium folder listed. any other suggestions? really want Chromium off my system as it's a pain in the butt!!!!

I have uninstalled chrome and chromium, but chromium is still running on my computer how is this ???

  Did you get any error when you tried to uninstall Chrome and Chromium?

  How did you install Chrome and Chromium? Is it through the Windows store, third party website or any other source?
  
• 
  Does the issue persist only while you try to uninstall Chrome and Chromium?

Random freezes or shut downs

Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.
