Windows 10: Random UI freezes bad lag

wish i knew why my pc was stuttering lately. i get some serious UI lag now or like click the start menu button and nothing happens for like a minute or no windows load and shit like that then it happens all at once. i thought maybe it was hardware related but now im wondering if its this windows build.

my ssd health is 99% according to crystaldiskinfo and im not seeing any errors. ran sfc scan and other drive scans etc no issues detected. drivers are all good. RAM scan was fine too. guess it could be my processor i think i saw a 100% utilization spike on task manager at one point. anyone having similar issues on this build or the previous build or does it sound like hardware? my hp spectre is running better than this.

Random lag spikes

Hi,

We would like to know more about your lag issue:

• What browser are you using when you experience a lag?
• Does the lag occur in a particular game?

In the meantime, we suggest you run the System Maintenance troubleshooter. Here are the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• On the left pane, click on View All.
• Click on System Maintenance to run the troubleshooter.

With hopes, this will end this nightmare for me. What do you think about it?

 

Random freezes or shut downs

Completely random freezing/shutdowns on a system with no recent hardware changes, and hard drive, memory, and PSU fine, usually means a software issue (file corruption or malicious software). I suggest following DavidV's recommendations.
