  1. Random Volume Changes on Windows 11

Hi,A few months ago my computer's volume randomly started shooting up to 100 and would stay there for a few seconds without letting me move it when I tried to pull it back down. After a while it would let me pull it back down to whatever level I like but this would happen again and again with nothing seeming to affect it. Restarting the computer, re-installing audio and GPU drivers, updating and rolling back Windows updates, re-installing Windows, using DISM and SFC/scannow haven't helped. This can happen continuously for minutes to hours but can stop for a few days and even weeks before it ha

    Hi,

We might need to do further investigation to better help you with your concern. May we know if you're using a built-in speaker or an audio device connected to the PC? Have you tried to use another audio device to see if the issue persists? If you haven't
performed any troubleshooting step yet, we suggest that you use the automated troubleshooter first to test the computer for sound problems.

The troubleshooter isn't designed to fix every problem but it is a useful tool to try first, as it can often save you time and effort. You may refer to the steps below:

    • Press Windows key + R and type Control Panel.
    • Type troubleshooting in the search bar and click on
      Troubleshooting
      .
    • Click on Hardware and Sound.
    • Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

Let us know how it goes.

  3. Random change in volume on Asus laptop running windows 10

    Hi,

I realize that you are facing random change in volume issue on your PC. I will try to help you with this issue.

Please answer these questions to get more clarity on this issue:

    • Did you make any changes to the PC prior to this issue?

    • Does this issue occur in a different user account?

Suggest you to boot the PC in Safe Mode to check if the issue persists.

Safe mode starts Windows in a basic state, using a limited set of files and drivers. It can help you troubleshoot problems on your PC. For example, if the problem doesn't happen in safe mode, you'll know default settings and basic device drivers
    aren't causing the issue.

Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

If the issue persists then you may boot the computer in a clean boot state and the status. A clean boot will helps us determine if any 3rd party service or application is causing this issue.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After you have finished troubleshooting, follow the steps under “How to reset the computer to start as usual after troubleshooting with clean boot” in the article to boot to normal startup.

Keep us informed to help you further.

    Thank you.

  4. Random Volume Changes on Windows 11

Windows 10 volume is always defaulted to 36 and I can't change it

    Hi Ajinc,

It could be some outdated sound drivers or some audio enhancements that caused the issue you are experiencing with controlling your system volume. To narrow down such concern, we'd like to ask a few questions:

    • Which version and build of Windows 10 is currently installed on your computer? To check, click on the
      Start > Settings > System >
      About
      .
    • What are the troubleshooting steps that you've tried so far?
    • Were there any changes made on your computer settings prior to this issue?

Meanwhile, we suggest that you perform the steps listed here. Those are troubleshooting steps suitable for sound problems.

Update us if the steps above helped you in resolving your concern.
