Random WindowsApps folders just appeared on my D disk for no reason. I was installing some games on xbox games pass and I have a dedicated folder for that, however this folder suddenly appeared and i cannot delete it as it's asking for administrator permission. Can i do something about it? I have windows 10 pro.

    :)

    WindowsApp Folder

It is already installed. In accordance with your suggestion, I have created a folder for it under Program Files and moved it there. Thanks. I would still be interested in understanding why I cannot get access to the WindowsApps folder, even after following all the steps I can follow online. Any insights please?

  3. Broken WindowsApps folder on D: drive

I have a WindowsApps folder on my D: Drive that I can't access, can't open/write to it and Windows Store cannot download anything onto that drive due to the folder issue. I have an Admin account and can access my WindowsApps folder on my C: drive but whenever I try interact with this one it says "Location is not accessible" and "Access denied". It stops me from downloading anything from gamepass and is very annoying. Does anybody have a fix suggestion?

Random folders appearing to my new hard drive

In process explorer right click on columns > select columns > process disk tab > enable disk delta write bytes
Order the process list by disk delta write bytes columns and monitor which process springs on top when files and folders are being created.
If it's one of the svchost.exe instances then look at it's modules and threads in the lower pane to detect the culprit.
