Windows 10: randomly while using my laptop the audio chooses to distort.. the only temporary fix i have...

hi, im having the problem where as mentioned in the title my audio distorts randomly. the only temp solution i have is by turning audio enhancement via control panel - sound - speakers - advanced properties, this is not a great fix and sometimes even this doesnt stop the distortion - i dont have control on when it happens -can occur while watching youtube or even playing a video game. and also occurs with both audio enhancements on or off, and can be a huge problem when playing a videogame as i cant easily exit to then go through control panel etc. please can you provide me with a permanent fi

sound distorted after windows 10 anniversary upgrade

This is where I'm at on my HP laptop with Windows 10 and the Anniversary update.

I completed step #3 "hardware and sound" but that took me to an option for "sound, speakers." There was no "properties" as step #4 suggests. I selected "sound, speakers" and then found "properties." After selecting "properties" there was no "enhancements
tab" as step #5 suggests.

Regardless, I then uninstalled the realtek audio driver. I noticed that when I did this without restarting my laptop that the sound was now tinny, but not distorted as it was previously. After restarting, the sound was again full, yet distorted.

Realtek still shows in my programs list, though it shows no memory is used.

Distorted Sound

Distorted sound can be be produces if there is an issue with the hardware or software. Please answer the following questions for us to narrow down this concern:

• Is it affecting all music, videos, and online videos?
• Which sound card is set to default? Realtek High Definition Audio or High Definition Audio Device? You will know it by typing
  "sound" on the search box and select Sound, under Playback, the default speaker should have a check.

Please run Playing Audio Troubleshooter by following these steps:

• Type "troubleshooting" on the search box.
• Select Troubleshooting on the result.
• Click View all.
• Choose Playing Audio and follow the steps.

How to fix Win10 Audio distortion

Ever since the last update for win7....and then an update for win10 afew months ago, I have had audio distortion.
When sounds get loud (as in movies or games) the audio starts breaking up.

I followed the Microsoft info to uninstall various drivers....but I have not been able to fix the audio distortion.

Uninstalled logitech headphone software
uninstalled Realtek audio software
uninstalled windows sound drivers
re-booted.

Windows installed software for my headphones automatically. I didn't install the logitech software or realtek audio software, but still have audio distortion.

I don't know what to do now.

Any ideas?
