  1. Ransomeware Attack - Encrypted Files with J18U7 Extension

We were told the offending file doing the encrypting is "xxx.exe." I have had some issues with my new laptop ever since I got it about 3 weeks ago. I found some files with the J18U7 extension and have shut the thing down. I have an external drive that MIGHT have traces of this malware on it, and wanted to know if anyone else is aware of it? Can it be scanned from another device, such as my workstation that I'm using as I write this, to detect and remove it?Of course, if this is a Zero-Day event, then there's probably nothing in place to detect it and remove it before it starts doing damag

    :)

  2. Ransomeware dotmap files

Hello, I need help 'cause my PC was attacked by .dotmap ransomware and the extension file types of my files have been changed into .dotmap instead of e.g: ThisDocument.docx into ThisDocument.docx.dotmap.

I need help to recover my files from being encrypted.

My computer have been freed from malware(s) and ransomeware(s). But the files are still on .dotmap extensions.

What can I do? and what should I do?

I already installed Malware bytes and Hitman Pro(trial 30 days).

My Windows Defender is up-to-date before the ransomeware attacked.

Please, I need to recover my files...
