  1. Rapid Battery Capacity Loss Over 6 Months

I have a Samsung Galaxybook Laptop on Windows 11 and have noticed how it starts to die pretty quickly, completely dead at around 4 hours of use. Is this decrease in battery capacity, around 10,000 mWh over 6 months normal? Thank you :

    :)

  2. Battery capacity rapid drop

I have a 4-month-old MSI Modern laptop with core i3 10110u 128Gb storage 8Gb ram. Very much base model type business laptop. I noticed recently my battery life was significantly less than it was the first month or so.

Doing a battery report I noticed full capacity was now 31Wh vs new was 39Wh. MSI support suggested doing a battery calibration which I did, but another report after that showed the same loss of capacity. Now I am starting to think maybe the battery is defective, or is not charging discharging correctly? What are the criteria for the PC maker to determine the battery needs to be replaced under warranty.

  3. Battery capacity rapid drop

    Hello Jescott418,
    I am Jaspreet Singh.
The criteria is usually how much the full charge capacity is for the battery i.e. how much charge it can store as compared to a new one.
Going by the fact that your device is just 4 months old and has 79% capacity of a new battery there is a defect and I would recommend getting it replaced under warranty.

  4. Rapid Battery Capacity Loss Over 6 Months

Full charge capacity of battery decreased

Repeat the steps Dave suggest you other three times.

Also you can uninstall and reinstall battery from device manager before each charge. You can do that:

    1. Press WINDOWS + X

    2. Click on "Device Manager"

    3. Click on "Battery"

    4. Right click on your battery

    5. Click on "Uninstall device"

    6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 for each element on battery list

    7. Click on "Detects Hardware change" (monitor icon)
