Windows 10: Rapid Laptop Battery Drain

My laptop shuts off within about a minute or two of being unplugged. The power remaining indicator will show a drop to 99% before the machine powers off. I have done a battery report on advice found in another thread and see a design capacity of 50,730 mWh and a full charge capacity of 31,217 mWh. I understand this is not good news for the health of the battery and I am inclined to replace it. I just don't want to find that there could be some other factor draining the battery like this. After all that is still around 60% capacity relative to original and the laptop used to last for a few hour

Thank you for the suggestion.

I do have the MSI Dragon Center utility installed on my laptop. I checked within the app and found the Battery Calibration option. I have run the battery calibration as recommended.

However, after running the calibration, the issue persists:

1. The battery still drains from 100% to 0% in approximately 9 minutes upon startup.
   
2. The battery still charges back to 100% very quickly when plugged in.
   

Is there any other step I should try, or could this indicate a deeper hardware issue? Any further advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen in several threads about your unusual battery drain the suggestion of reinstalling the battery driver. I have never had to do this myself.
- I do urge you first to disconnect the battery from the computer to get a final confirmation that the drain is only whilst connected.
- Then use the procedure suggested by nopivnick & Razor Support in delete battery drivers - MSAForum [it's the second post in the set and is dated 15th July 2017].You will notice that nopivnick had other problems, such as varying reports of Design capacity, but nothing else posted detracted from that battery driver replacement procedure.
I think I have seen similar recommendations in TenForums but I didn't keep any links to those threads.
