Windows 10: Rar, and only rar files somehow getting blocked.

I have a HP 840 G5, running Windows 11 22H2 and everything is updated, the core Windows as in. I have one problem, and honestly I don't know when it started. All rar files that I've downloaded will not open no matter what I do. At first I thought they were corrupt but after doing a little bit of tests, I've discovered that it's somehow being blocked. Like when you download a compressed rar file with a virus, you won't be able to open it, it'll say corrupt. Or at least I remember it that way. I've tried download managers, other browsers but it's still the same thing. It only works when I use an

Corrupted file RAR

If the archive has been created using WinRAR, why don't you try WinRAR itself? It has a built-in repair feature for repairing corrupted archive (ZIP as well as RAR). Follow the steps given below:

• Open WinRAR application in your system.
• Now click on File tab > Open or simply press Ctrl+O.
• A small window "Find Archive" will pop up. Locate the corrupt RAR archive from your system directory and select it.
• Now click Open button.
• Click Tools tab > Repair archive or simply press Alt+R.
• Again a small window "Repairing File name.rar" will pop up.
• Now click Browse to select a location to save the repaired archive.
• Check the box "Treat the corrupt archive as RAR" and click OK.
• WinRAR will start repairing of corrupt RAR archive. Once it gets completed click Close.

Trouble extracting Rar files

Is it possible that there are more parts to this .RAR? When files are large, they usually get broken into smaller self-extracting .rar files that use redundancy to make sure the whole file get's unpacked.

I'd imaging UT3 would be pretty darn big. How big is the .rar you're opening?

 

Corrupted file RAR

Unless you're using an nzb service there is no way to verify and repair individual rar files in a collection. Once a rar file is toast it's toast, redownload or find another source

Of course if this is all for piracy, go ask somewhere else.
