Windows 10: Raw image extension not working.

I can only see thums of the raw picture dng, cr2, cr3 if I first preview the files in photo. After the preview of each individual picture I have to go back to the folder click on empty space to get the "more options" , and after clicking on it and then doing refresh. After the refresh all the raw thumbs are visible.

Regarding to your information I assume that your Raw Image Extension can't work and you want to reinstall them but can't uninstall it.

This extension is a decoder, after installing it you can use the Photo app to open the raw photo and use Explorer to view the raw thumbnail.

Did you mean you can't use this software open the raw photo?

You can run the PowerShell as administrator then enter this command uninstall this extension

Raw Image Extension not working

In the past, I used the FastPictureViewer codec pac to allow me to view thumbnails of my RAW photos in their folders using Microsoft Explorer. It worked great. Lately it has not worked as before, and a request for help has not come. So I decided to uninstall it and to use Raw Image Extension, which was not available in the past. I downloaded Rae Image Extension to bring back that capability. but it does nothing. Don't know why, might you?. All my photos appear as icons in Explorer. Never had to use Powershell before. I see how to get to it as administrator. Can I first use it to see if the codec is there at all?

 

Raw Image Extension not working

I used the Microsoft store to get the Raw Image Extension so I could see my raw images in Explorer. It supports my camera. I have the latest version of Win 10. I am pretty sure I clicked something, which probably said GET. As it is not working, I went back to the store to try it again. Now the store site says I own the codec, and just has an OPEN button. That leads to an irrelevant page. I cannot find the codec on the computer, unless it shows as a different name. I tried to reset the app from the settings app page, but it did not help. How can I get the codec to work, or reinstall it?
