Windows 10: RDP Host Machine doesn't engage screensaver after disconnection [W11], also fans turn on...

Behaviour : after disconnecting a RDP session, the host machine will not engage the screensaver, and instead sit at the lock screen forever.You're asking yourself : don't you have your laptop set to sleep after x mins of inactivity? No - and here's why.On my Lenovo LOQ laptop, the moment it goes to sleep the fans turn on full-blast. It is insane behaviour - the fans are off during normal use, but during sleep they engage! I've had to disable sleep and enable the screensaver, just to keep the fans off, but that's how I discovered this RDP behaviour after logging into it from my work PC and c

Activate Screensaver when disconnecting from RDP session


Hello,

I have my desktop at home setup so that I can use Windows Remote Desktop to remote into it and do work. When I'm done, I usually just close the RDP session window, leaving my computer at home logged in, but locked (because I have other server processes running). If I lock my desktop locally (with Windows key + L) I have my screensavers setup to engage automatically. I was wondering if there was a way to do something similar when I disconnect from an RDP session. Currently, it just shows the Windows 10 lock screen and then the monitors shutdown at some point after. Any help would be appreciated!

Slow RDP connection to host machine after updates

I run multiple Hyper-V VMs from a single host. I updated all computers over the past few months with the September/October Windows 10 update and the various subsequent fixes.

The RDP connections with the various VMs are fine and unaffected. However, the connection to the host machine has degraded significantly. RDP will connect, but the delay is incredibly slow and, when there is a connection, it is sporadic at best.
This was not the case prior to the updates.

I tried adjusting the autotuning, but that did not help.

I have also looked at the various forums, but I can't seem to locate any solution that worked.

Is there a way to uninstall and then reinstall a "role" for RDP?
