Windows 10: RDP no sound

Windows 10 with Hyper-V. Windows 10 RDP.
-tested OK: XP VM sound is OK via RDP
-BAD: Windows 10 RDPing to windows 7 VM sound is NOT working
-tested OK: Windows 7 RDPing to windows 7vm sound is working.


Windows 7 is a fresh install with no updates, waiting on them is like waiting for grass to grow, dunno if updates are working yet.


I have tried to install a virtual audio device in Windows 7, no luck
I have tried finding a downgrade from the RDP protocol, but failed.
While in the RDP session I see "remote audio" as the default and only device, when I right-click test the sound bar moves. "configure" is greyed out.
All volume controls are at max, nothing is muted.
Sounds from win 10 to xp rdp work but not rdp to this Windows 7VM

help?

Windows 10 Remote Desktop Session - Sound stops when disconnect

Thanks for the suggestion to use Chrome Remote Desktop.

Note that I have the same problem when using MS RDP (beta) Android app, as well as RD Client v 8.1.27 on iOS.

My scenario is similar to others:

1) RDP to Media PC.

2) I get some music playing on Media PC over my optical output (not the Default sound destination) to my Onkyo amp.

3) When I disconnect RDP (either from Win 10 or Android) the audio stops.

4) I get sad

I'll try Chrome's RDP... but I REALLY hope MS addresses this problem.

after investigation, I found the source of the problem, my desktop had specific config around the remote desktop service.

like remotefx config.

once these custom config removed, this solved the problem... except the sound, the sound doesnt works through RDP.
