Windows 10: RDP not working from laptop to PC

Hi guys,

I am having trouble getting RDP to work on my PC.
I have checked everything.
But I can RDP from my PC to my laptop.

I have on both laptops a password, (I do have the same username, could that conflict?)
I have on both PC's the latest W10 update (10586) and I can ping both PC's to eachother.
I have disabled my second network card on my PC but still nothing.

I really am out of idea's, can someone help me out?

Remote desktop Windows 10 - Display issues

I'm having the same issue, so please allow me to add my details:

Connecting from a Win10 Laptop to a Win10 PC.

PC is an older i5-750 with ATI Radeon HD4600 graphics card.

Before I updated the PC to Win10 it was running Windows 7 Ultimate and RDP connections to it from the same laptop worked perfectly fine.

After I updated the PC to Win10, the RDP connections look distorted.

Both laptop and PC have a display resolution of 1920 x 1080, if RPD is used in full-screen or not doesn't make any difference.

Tried many modifications of RDP and ClearType settings on laptop and PC, nothing improved the display.

By the way, I can still connection from the laptop to other Win7 or Win8.1 machines and the display looks fine, so this should be caused by Win10 on the PC.

Windows 10 RDP Performance

My local machine was fine - connected via WIFI.

I ran pings to my work PC and to 8.8.8.8 as a control - didn't drop packets during either test and ping response times were normal (around 30ms).

I've used RDP to connect to my work PC over VPN for several years. When my laptop was running win7, i had no performance problems, but now that I've updated it to win10, the native 10 client seems to be very cumbersome, with no apparent options to tweak
performance settings.

Today I'm in the office, and I'm composing this reply from within an RDP session on my laptop to my work PC - the performance is better then when i connected across the Internet, but it's still not great.

When connecting from the Internet, RDP is almost unusable.

 

What OS is on the PC? Must be Pro for it to work as the target of a RDP connection.
Laptop must already have Pro since it works.

 

Both have Windows 10 Pro (10568) because I used the same ISO for both.

 

Check Windows Firewall, make sure Remote Desktop Connection is checked in the Allow apps to communicate through the firewall. I have it checked for Public and Private, you may want only Private.

 

Seems to be working now. Never changed anything in the firewall on either PC's, so it is strange that from PC to laptop it was working, and the other way around not, but thanks for the input!
