RDP Outside network to Win11 machine not working, Works on Win10 machine

So i have new machine which i enabled RDP on.Port forwarding is done. setup is exactly as the Win 10 machine. However while on internal network connection are opened. But when outside the network so remotely the connections will not get established it just simply fails. As said RDP is enabled, users are added even though i don't get to the point where i need to identify.Port forwarding is enabled for this computers IP.Is there anything new in Windows 11 that could cause this? Thanks

    :)

  2. Rdp doesnt work from outside my own network

So i have a windows 11 pro machine on which i want to open the RDP service over the network for a friend to use my system's computation power.

The problem i am facing is that i can access the system from any other machine in my local network using my public IP or ddns hostname on the rdp field but not if from outside the network.

From machines outside the network when entering the correct hostname/public IP seems that the connection just times out.

    Steps i have taken:

    • Enable rdp on the system and configure a static IP
    • Configure port forwarding and dynamic dns on the router
    • Select the scope of the users on the machine that can be accessed via rdp
    • Firewall rdp is allowed
    • Tried to disable firewall in order to check if it drops the connection but no luck either.

    * Changed to a question

  3. Rdp doesnt work from outside my own network

It sounds like you have taken the necessary steps to enable RDP on your Windows 11 Pro machine and configure port forwarding on your router. However, since you are unable to connect to your machine from outside your network, it is possible that your ISP is blocking incoming traffic on the RDP port.

To confirm this, you can try changing the RDP port to a different port number (e.g. 3389 to 3390) and update the port forwarding rule on your router accordingly. Then, try connecting to your machine using the new port number from outside your network.

If you are still unable to connect, you may need to contact your ISP to see if they are blocking incoming traffic on the RDP port. Alternatively, you can try using a VPN to connect to your network and then access your Windows 11 Pro machine via RDP.

The second option, using VPN is the advisable one, opening RDP on the internet will subject your pc to brute force attacks by botnets & hackers. It might not be long before your setup is breached if you do.

RDP not working on one machine at home

    Hi guys,
I have several machines at home that have RDP enabled. All are running Windows 10 Pro.
I have enabled RDP on all via System Settings > Remote.

RDP Outside network to Win11 machine not working, Works on Win10 machine 71076d1485964900t-rdp-not-working-one-machine-home-2016_03_23_17_06_291.png

I have also gone to Computer Management and setup the same users in the RDP Group.
Here are the machines that I have
    DT1
    LT1
    LT2
    LT3

I can connect to and from using RDP to any machine but 1. DT1.
It will let RDP to find it. I can access it's share drives no problem but RDP will not go to it. I can however RDP from it to any machine.

I keep checking all the settings, I've allowed RDP via Windows Firewall. I have Norton installed which I disabled but still no luck. All machines have Norton installed and I did not touch Firewall on those at all but they were fine.

Anything else I can do guys? Please help.
