Windows 10: RDS - Adding Excel Add-ins for all users to see when using - User Profile Disk UPD

I was hoping someone might know how to make an Excel Add-in selectable for all users on my 2019 RDS Farm using User Profile Disk UPD. Originally the user profiles were local on each server in the farm and I had it working properly with a registry entry. We switched to UPD and now the .xlam add-in does not show as a selection in Excel 2016 when users open it. I can't seem to find a registry solution for this that is specific to my situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Windows 2016 -RDS user get temp profile - Error Code 0x4005.135 then 0x20.135

I have a strange and random problem with only one different user per day on RDS over 100 active users.

We use Windows Server 2016.

To explain :

• User connect on our RDS farm through a broker
  
• For the user that have the problem, we see that his profile is loading but at the end it finished with a temp profile
  
• It happens only once a day, only for one user and with different server from the farm.
  
• udp uses vhdx
  
• problem since august friday 27th
  

Searching on event viewer, I've found that at the first openning session from the user who got the problem that there is an error with Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager/Admin - Error code 0x4005.135

Then, on next try, errors are Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager/Admin - Error code 0x20.135

I've seen over Microsoft Community that I had to delete "***.bak" registry on ProfileList on Regedit, even the ProfilGuid registry but it doesn't work.

I've tried to move or rename the udp disk but I can't because it says that it's actually locked by System.

I've search on all RDS server and the udp disk is not mounted.

It seems that rebooting the server broker temporary correct the problem.... but only temporary.

Server 2019 RDS farm UPDs staying locked after ending disconnected sessions

Hi All

we have a server 2019 RDS setup as the broker and a few host servers .

When A user closes the connection by clicking on the x we have set the "end a disconnected session" setting to 1 hour.

Some times after that 1 hour when the user logs in again he or she will have issues and then upon checking we will see the UPD still being locked.

We then have to unlock then the user can log in again

Sessions settings:

End a disconnected session - 1 hour

Active session limit - never

Idle session limit - never

Temporary folder settings:

Delete temporary folders on exit - true

Use temporary folders per session - true

User profile disks

Enable use profile disks - True

Location some other server

Store all user settings and data on user profile disk - true

EDIT: also Office 2019 standard is installed

 

RDS browse function behavior for different users

Hi,

Need your help to understand browse button functionality under RDS environment for different users.

I have customer who has same RDS profile setup for all users, but when ever browse function used from a particular application to attach documents :

- For some users, it keeps in memory last location used and open that location with last few attachments done.

- For some user it shows blank list and user have to re-direct to original location to make attachment.

On user profile below configuration done :

- Default save location of documents in application.

- Task Bar -> Properties > this will open Taskbar and Navigation properties window -> Jump Lists tab -> check/ uncheck "Store and display recently opened items in Jump Lists".

Please share your valuable thoughts on above.
