Windows 10: RDS License

Hi, I have a customer that purchase RDS Cal license on one paper for 8 Cal license. They would like to use the license for 2 RDS session host. is it possible to split the license to 2 server 1 for 4 user and another 1 for 4 user?

How to activate RDS License of the Windows server 2016 using powershell?

Im trying to activate the rds license of the windows server with powershell using this TSLicensekey pack.

I have License Server ID and Client Access license which is required for me to activate the license using GUI - RDS License manager. Below are the steps im doing for the manual GUI method:

1. In RDS manager, right click and activate license and selecting connection method as "Web Browser" and then in next window entering license server ID [<35 character key and xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx>] and then it activate the license and then in next window is to enter the CAL - Client access license with key [<35 character key and xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx>] and then it will finish the activation.

Post this in rds manager, right click and click on review configuration to add the computer to group to Active directory to complete the steps.

These are the steps im following to activate the license, can i get the above steps using PowerShell?

 

RDS CAL downgrade rights under Volume Licensing

Hi,

Good day everyone!

I would just like to inquire where can I seek assistance for my inquiry regarding RDS CAL, if it has downgrade rights since it is under Volume Licensing?

This is an inquiry from our Partner since they are proposing RDS CAL 2019 licenses but the
existing License Server is Windows 2012 R2 (upon checking the aforementioned Windows Server version and RDS CAL version is not compatible)



We always offer the latest version in the VLSC portal, but we’d like to know if RDS CAL has downgrade rights under Volume Licensing?

RD Gateway Server - how to remove permanently

Hello,
At my previous job, I was asked to take certain steps (don't remember now what they were) but it was to set up RDP to use a Gateway server.

Now that I've changed jobs, I still see the old IP and Gateway server information. I went to registry and deleted the entries from Terminal client and servers.

However, I still see a server name listed under RDP-Advanced-Settings-Use these RD Gateway Server settings.
I have opted for - Do not use RD Gateway server but was wondering how to remove the old server name entry completely.
