Windows 10: Re-Activation of Windows after hardware upgrade / can't find my key

Dear all,I finally upgraded my system completely besides the SSDs among else to finally upgrade to Win 11 as my older hardware would not allow that. To my surprise I found that Win 10 is no longer activated. I set up the system more than 10 years ago and if I remember

Activation after new hardware upgrades?

Right - my point was to see what would happen if I tried the OS from one system on a totally different motherboard, and it went better than I expected, other than the activation - which I expected. I did chat with a Microsoft rep today online and he confirmed that after the hardware upgrade on a free Win10 upgrade that they (Mircosoft) will have to remote access my system to verify the proper key, etc. before they can reactivate it.

or you could hack it with a crack but please note this is always risky and you don't know what's in the hack

I won't buy a key, stupid.

I'll revert back to windows 7 then.

When I still was on windows 7, about a year ago I added 4GB extra ram which is a total of 8GB now,
is that causing the problem?
