Re-add Lock Screen Account select Image

Windows 10 Version 2004 (also occurred on version 1909)

How can I re-add the default lock screen user account select image to my profile (not the image above the username and password field). The picture below (not my PC) is an example of what I'm referring to. The "admintest" image has the default image but the "Administrator" account doesn't have an image at all.

Cannot locate custom Lock Screen images in W10 Pro 1809

    Success.

Here is the solution, but it is imperative to proceed carefully.
There are also a couple of final steps that are missing and I had to think about it.

Retrieve Custom Windows 10 Lock Screen Image - Super User

This must be done as Administrator (True Administrator account) -

You must add "Administrator" to the additional fields not listed to get through the permission issues caused by NTFS.

Edit - I'm posting the missing steps:

There's quite a bit going on here, but the important item to understand is that for each "picture" folder, you need to add yourself as Administrator.
Just click on "Select a principal" and enter Administrator as the Object Name for each folder you wish to gain access to.

Hope this helps. Thanks for your help, Shawn.

Microsoft should not have any user going through this just to find a picture. It is insanity.

Lock screen image changes after restart

    Hello,

Is the account you are signing in to is a Microsoft Account or a local user account?

We suggest that you create a new local user account and see if the lock screen reverts back when your device restarts. You may follow the steps below on how to create a local user account:

    • Click the Start button, then select Settings
      > Accounts > Family & other people > Add someone else to this PC.
    • Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

Keep us updated on the results.

    Regards.
