  1. Re-appearance of an old bug in memory management.

I recently experienced severe problems with my computer after the usual updates. I am running an HP Envy All-in-one with 8 Fig of Ram etc and have had no normal problems. I leave my Updates in auto and check from time to time to see what has ben involved. Generally it is the usual security improvements; but nothing major.

A few days ago I suddenly started to see a massive down drop in my memory availability - I run a resources manager from Advanced Systems Care - and the flyout reported my memory maxed out and also my disc access cache due to exceptional system usage. I checked and there was nothing running apart from normal services. I cleared the cache manually but the relief was small and only temporary. This happened several times until yesterday when I ran the Systems Care Drivers scan which reported a required and just released update and then installed same. Instant cure - the temperatures re-adjusted and the memory usage returned to normal. The update was from Microsoft and appears to be for the Microsoft intel engine or similar. I looked further into this and it appears to have occurred some years back via the Reddit forum when businesses were being swamped by machine crashes with similar symptoms I just experienced. Now that I am back to normal - I feel it only fair to report this in case any one else has experienced similar problems and hasn't yet kept all their drivers up to date.

Hope this is of use to someone - including the Microsoft engineers - it is pretty frightening to see your machine in apparent meltdown!!

    :)

  2. Taskbar bug: switching to another window -will not appear at the front

Follow either of these steps to fix the issue with the Active window hiding behind.

    Method 1:
I suggest you to disable window by hovering over it with the mouse and check if it helps. To do so I suggest you to try the below given steps and check if it helps:

    1. Press Windows key + X key and click on Control Panel.
    2. Select or click Ease of Access.
    3. Click or tap onEase of Access Centre.
    4. Click on Make the Mouse Easier to Use was uncheck Activate Window by hovering over it with the mouse.
    5. Check if issue is resolved.
    Method 2:
I would suggest you to completely uninstall the touchpad driver and reinstall it. Kindly follow the below given steps.

    1. Press “Windows key + X” and click on “Device Manager”.
    2. In the list of devices, you should see the touchpad drivers.
    3. Right click on the device and then select "Uninstall".
    4. In the uninstall dialog, make sure you select the option to delete the driver package from the system. This causes the driver package installed earlier to be deleted.
    5. In the Action menu of Device manager, select “Scan for Hardware changes” option. This will cause the device driver to be reinstalled. Once the driver is installed, close all windows and restart the computer.

    BSOD- memory management

Upon checking the dump file, the issue is being caused by ntoskrnl.exe. Ntoskrnl.exe is the one responsible for memory management that is why you're having the Memory Management error. We suggest that you follow the steps found in the link that we provided
in our last reply to resolve the issue. Please take note that if you're overclocking your processor or video card, kindly reset their settings to default.
