  1. Re-imaging from external drive, but no drives appear in the "Select the location ..." list.

Trying to restore the C drive from a regular image on a plain old USB hard drive, while booted from a flash drive. I get to "Select the location of the backup ..." but the list is empty. "Refresh" doesn't do anything. "Advanced..." then gives me the choice to "Search ... on the network" or "Install a driver". The later brings up an "Add Drivers" box, and when I hit OK I get an "Open" box, which does see all the drives. I don't think there's really any Driver that needs installing, and when I get back to the "Select the location ..." window, the list is still empty, and "Refresh" still doesn't do anything.

I must be missing something, but I'm open to any process for restoring the C drive from the image on that USB drive. Do I need to put the image folder in some particular place, with some particular name?

    :)

  2. External Seagate Drive not appearing after Creators Update

    Hi Pete,

Since the problem with your external hard drive surfaced after installing the Windows 10 Creators update, then most likely it has something to do with the its driver software being outdated or broken. To help us diagnose and address this problem, we suggest
that performing first the Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter. Follow the steps below:

    • In the search bar, type troubleshooting and open it.
    • In the left pane, click View all.
    • Click Hardware and Devices.
    • Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions.

If the issue persists, then please try to update the driver for your external hard drive. Follow these steps:

    • Right-click the Windows key, then select Device Manager.
    • Locate your external device from the list. If it doesn't appear there but something appeared with a yellow or red sign, right-click on it and click
      Update Driver Software.
    • Select Search automatically for updated driver software.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the update.

Feel free to let us know if you need further assistance.

    Regards.
