Windows 10: RE JAVA UPDATES "Faild to download required installation files"

Hello

As resent post suggests one has been having problems with JAVA updates. the following screen capture show the 'problem' which up to now does not seem to have made any difference to the overall 'health' of the device.


Any advice from any user with experience in the matter would greatly appreciated.

Hi, VLADDIGBY

Follow these steps, then try to update Java again, I hope it helps.

Open Start, type: CMD

Right click CMD

Click Run as administrator

Type in at the prompt OR Copy and Paste these one at a time : (Hit enter after each)

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Also run the System File Checker utility:

Open Start, type: CMD

Right click CMD

Click Run as administrator

At the Command Prompt, type: sfc /SCANNOW

This will check for any integrity violations

Restart your system

I ran this scan! It did find corrupt files on the 3rd scan mentioned. And the last. The scan seemed to do good? I am currently searching the device to see if I can find what the corrupt files where and what has changed. I have not had the 'JAVA'
update download reminder yet so there is that to report to. I will report the findings and overall personal conclusion of the overall results here. But I would just like to say thank you for the reply and it not being something nasty as I must confess I had
no idea what this scan may do and coming from an independent advisor well who knows.

The Windows specs are = Windows 10 pro, Version 1803, OS build 17134228
