Windows 10: Re: Thumbnails are Still NOT showing?

I don't know why, but whenever my thumbnails do not show the previews for the pictures Always tends to occur at night time. I've looked through MULTIPLE threads and they All say the same exact thing which is: "Go to View tab, go to Options, and go to the change folders, etc..area: go to view tab on there and Uncheck the "always show icons, never thumbnails."


But I have Yet to find anything that does NOT relate to the above because what if that Box has already been UNCHECKED from that folder? It worked when I restarted my computer in the morning and it showed previews for Both Pictures and Videos. Also, I used Windows 10 Btw, I regret updating my computer to Windows 10 = worst decision, it seems like it made almost everything worse. Btw, for those who did update to windows 10 and want to reverse it, you Only have a about a 7-maybe 10 day window to do so. Once it's past the day window = You're stuck with it. When I tried to reverse that, it was grayed out in my system settings I think it was and it said something about a 10-day window.


Anyways, how do I get my Photo and Video thumbnails to show again? Tonight 02/01/20, when I tried restarting my computer, it didn't work fully because I should be able to see my thumbnail previews within the folders and that was around 9:10 PM PST and it's 9:23 PM PST now as I'm asking this. Also, could Storage space specifically have anything to do with thumbnail previews not showing up on my computer? For example: if I keep getting messages that say: "Free up storage." Idk if that could have anything to do w/thumbnails not showing, but if so, please let me know.

Many thanks for you reply. I have done all the steps you suggested, but no change,

When I open a folder containing photos, some open correctly but the vast majority open with thumbnails, but they very quickly get overwritten and you can not longer see the thumbnails.

Are there any more suggestions?

  When you say "the thumbnails are just icons", is that on a local account or the Microsoft account?
  
• 
  Do you have the latest version of ProRes or iTunes installed on the pc?
  

I suggest you to follow the steps below and verify the result.

• 
  Go to file explorer and clock on view.
  
• 
  Select Options and Go to View.
  
• 
  Under Files and folders uncheck the box always show icon, never thumbnails.
  

I also suggest you to install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience.
