Windows 10: Reactivate a deactivated HDD

    Reactivate a deactivated HDD


    Hello,I wanted to disable my HDD Drive today in order to boost my Computer's performance. I did it too quick and was not really knowing what I'm doing. I followed this guide: Windows + X > Disk Manager > right click on HDD > Properties > Driver tab > Disable Device. There was no "disable device" button for me so I clicked on "deactivate device". I got a warning but saw that there is an "activate" button so I thought I could just restart and activate the HDD later again. Now the HDD is neither showing up in the disk manager nor in the device manager and I can't find any way to ac

    I have inadvertently deactivated a secondary HDD on my PC using Windows 10. could someone please help me to reactivate it.

    It is possible that your
    HDD was unreadable
    causing the error message to appear. We recommend that you perform these troubleshooting steps and check if there are any changes:


    • Shutdown
      your
      PC.

    • Unhooked
      the
      HDD
      and
      turn on
      your
      PC.

    • Reconnect
      your
      HDD
      and
      restart
      your
      PC.

    If the issue persists, we suggest that you contact your
    laptop/computer's manufacturer
    for further assistance.
