I used Microsoft Download tool to update my HP Omen laptop. I am updated now but not activated. I tried the trouble shooter but it was no help giving error about connecting to organizations. As I type Microsoft support and Recovery Assistant failed to activate Windows. I upgraded from windows home to pro, an NVME from 250gb to 500gb, a 1tb HDD to 2tb SSD and from 12gb RAM to 32gb in an HP Omen laptop more than a ye

    Reactivation Failed

I have just recently replaced my motherboard/processor and I reformatted my windows hard drive. I gone through the hardware changes steps, I chose the old machine listed on my account and clicked on ACTIVATE.

    It now tells me that:

    "Unable to activate Windows

We can't reactivate Windows on this device. Try again later."

    What am I missing here?

Issue Activating Windows After Changing Motherboard and CPU

Thanks for the links, but I've already done the steps in both of those, as listed in my initial post. The name of my computer isn't listed in the troubleshooting / reactivation window even though Windows was activated on that computer previously.

windows 10 reactivation after hardware change

I just changed motherboards, and When I follow the the steps listed in the "reactivate windows 10 after hardware change" support page, it gives me the message "unable to activate windows" message after I sign in and identify my device,
with no error code, just a subheader that says "can't activate windows 10 on this device, try again later."
