Windows 10: Reactivate Windows 10 product key for use on same PC

I work for a major defense contractor, and we’re building up systems that include PCs with no domain or connectivity outside the standalone network. Our PC supplier buys Windows 10 Enterprise 1909 licenses for us, and provides those unique license keys along with the PC. To complicate things, they’ve already built up Windows 10 on the PCs and applied the license before delivering them, but we must overwrite their OS with our own hardened SHB Win10 Enterprise 1909, and then use the Microsoft phone system to re-license them with the same codes. Product key association disable on old pc

Hey,


I sold my old pc to a friend. He installed some missing parts (HDD, GPU and RAM). Then we installed Windows 10 Home 64-bit version from USB stick. I was surprised to see that windows was automatically activated after that. I did some digging and found out that it is using my product key, which i use now in my own new pc. My friend does not have his own product key, the idea was that he just uses the unactivated windows with limited features.


I uninstalled my Windows 10 product key via command prompt in friends computer (as i understand this is only local solution, if he reinstall windows or clicks the active button, it reactivates automatically with my product key) and now it says windows is not activated, but my product key is still shown with Produkey app in his pc. So far windows is still activated my own pc.


My questions:

1. Is this all i need to do?
2. How do i get rid of product key showing still with product key showing apps on my friend's computer?
3. Is there a way to get rid of association of my product key on that old pc that i sold to friend?

EDIT: I originally installed windows 10 via upgrade option from Windows 7, if that matters.

Hi Oscar,

Since the laptop has no battery compartment wherein the product key is usually located, we recommend that you follow these steps to find your Windows product key:

• Press Windows + X and select Command Prompt (Admin).
• Enter this command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
  and hit Enter.

reactivating windows 10 on new hardware, without "proper" product key

I am attaching as you requested. However let me be clear: I'm not attempting to get away with anything here. I bought this machine from a dealer on amazon. They told me they do volume activation through a legitimate activation tool. If it is proven that they lied to me that's one thing. I bought a machine, and figured an Amazon seller would likely be reputable. That's all I did. so if there's something wrong you won't help me on this forum? Not very nice! I am happy with the computer's performance, and will take whatever steps I need to to make it legitimately mine if it isn't. Please do not talk to me like a criminal. I've bought many used computers with various versions of windows over the course of life, but this is my first time dealing with windows 10. And Microsoft is very confusing to talk to, and few of their reps seem communicate well in English.
